Meet the Sitters

Regina Hilsheimer

Regina HilsheimerPet Tech CPR & First Aid CertifiedIn June 2014 I retired from Bay District Schools in Panama City, Fl after 21 years of service. My husband and I sold our house and moved to the Sullivan Ranch subdivision here in Mount Dora. We have 2 female dachshunds: Heidi (13 yrs) and Sally (7 yrs). Sally is our special needs girl. She had a disc rupture in Feb 2013. Even though she had surgery immediately to remove the herniated disc she never regained any feeling in her rear end. She is happy to “scoot” about in the house and has “wheels” to go for walks with her sister.

I have such a passion for animals. Growing up we always had pets in the house ranging from dogs and cats to birds, hamsters, and turtles. I met Lisa with Biscuit Time shortly after moving here. Once a position opened up with her company I happily accepted it. I love all animals and look forward to meeting yours. I treat all of our clients’ pets as if they are my own!

Some wise man once said, “Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.”

I always had a minimum of 3 dogs in the house growing up. One I will never forget, was our 3 legged Rhodesian ridge back mix, who we rescued from the local pound, they called “Drastic”. My first horse Bagera, who I did 4h with and qualified and rode at the highest level. I have been so blessed to be able to ride and compete at the highest level of competition up and down the East Coast still to this day. I achieved a dual scholarship for Basketball and to ride on the Intercollegiate Equestrian team which was ranked in the top 10 in the country at the time. I graduated from St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC with my Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Horsemanship, taking many animal science and training philosophy courses. After graduating I worked at an Equine outpatient Psychotherapy facility as the Equine Specialist. This was the perfect job because I could bring my black lab mix, “Diesel” that I had just rescued to work with me! Moved back to Fl in 2014 and I am renting a home in Mt Dora Country Club. I keep my horses, goats, pig and donkey 6 miles away in Sorrento, where I hope to build my home one day.

I work, so my animals can have a good life and never need/want for anything! Working at Walgreens and Publix as a pharmacy technician, I realized the schedule and being inside is just not going to benefit my life style of animal loving. I took this job at Biscuit time to help with my transition into a new career at New York Life, essentially selling life insurance. I think the more flexible schedule will make me happier because Ill be able to see my animals on my breaks. Since my eyes have opened I have loved animals. Horses, dogs, cats, pigs, goats, donkeys, llamas, chickens, birds, fish and turtles are just a few animals that I have had personal experiences with owning or taking care of. Animals are part of who I am, and all of my positive characteristics and life lessons, I have learned from an animal. The way I see it is, animals are examples of the purest form of love and you cannot find anything more genuine.

I am also training for a half marathon so If your big dogs needs some energy burnt off, I would be happy to take it for a run!

I moved to Florida with my wife and children from New Jersey in 2006 and have lived in Sullivan Ranch since 2007. I am a lifelong dog and cat owner but also have a lot of experience caring for birds, snakes, lizards, rodents, fish, and even spiders. We currently have a Shih-Tzu named Chewie, and Norman, whose DNA results came back 50% St. Bernard but we are getting a second opinion. We also have 2 cats named Ruby and Steve and a parakeet named Joe. I will always care for your pets as my own and I look forward to meeting both you and yours.

Paul Wottring Pet Tech CPR & First Aid CertifiedAfter many years in the corporate, non- profit and public sector my wife Kate and I retired. We sold our home in Kansas City and moved to Sullivan Ranch in Mount Dora in August of 2015. We have had many rescue dogs and cats over the years including a diabetic Cairn Terrier that required my providing insulin shots twice a day for over two years , so I am very familiar with diabetes protocol in animals. We are currently blessed with a lab , Tristan, a Maltese/ Shih tzu Terrier, named Skye and a cat named Bella.

Working for Biscuit Time allows me to continue to experience the circle of life and love for animals beyond my own family.

Carole Bayer

Carol BayerPet Tech CPR & First Aid CertifiedMy true passion has always been caring for animals. Growing up we had dogs, cats, guinea pigs, a ferret, and any wild animal that was in need.

I have recently retired from united airlines after 23 years although my total airline career was 30. During that time I was the pet sitter for all my friends and coworkers. Being in the travel industry we all took lots of trips. All my dogs and cats have always been rescues. Who rescued who is my favorite quote!

I also volunteered at a horse rescue and cared for over 50 horses. Eventually sponsoring my horse Elvis who was the love of my life. Everyone called me the horse whisperer. I can promise i will take care of your pets like my own with kindness and love. I look forward to meeting you and your furry companions soon!

I have lived all over Central Florida my entire life, besides my four years spent in Tallahassee attending THE Florida State University. After working as a Real Estate Investigator for the State for a year out of college, I decided to do something a little more meaningful and taught Middle School for 8 awesome years. Once I had my own children, I decided it was time to follow my first love of Real Estate and become a Realtor full time.

Growing up, I was the kid that fed the ants, attended horse camp on summer vacations, used a roller skate as a dog until my pediatrician suggest my parents get me a real one. I even let stray cats in my bedroom window at night, letting them birth their kittens under my parents’ bed (first time) and in my closet (second time). After the second time, we began the process of having them fixed before housing them!

My favorite time of year is College Football Season. My children knew the chop before they could talk, and my 4-year-old has been singing the complete Fight Song for over a year. One of my dogs is named Chief. We are TRUE Noles.

The shorter “about me” would be that I love my family, my Seminoles, Christmas, animals, blue jeans, and clear blue skies.

Vicki Nally

Pet Tech CPR & First Aid CertifiedI moved to Florida from Michigan three years ago in order to assist my parents who were getting up in age. My career spans just a few months shy of 40 years with a large utility company in Michigan. For the past 30 years with the company, I worked as a human resources professional and an IT professional.

When I was growing up we always had pets, mostly cats and dogs, however my brother had his share of snakes and other “pets”. I also had the good fortune to be around my aunt’s horses and learn to ride. When my son was growing up we had dogs, including a black lab, golden retriever and a sheltie. All of them were special and treasured pets as well as members of the family.

Living a variety of places since being divorced I have not acquired another pet as my schedule and travel made that difficult. Currently, living in Sullivan Ranch after moving to Florida, I am saving for a fence before I get a dog of my own. I do care for my father’s cat, and often have friends and relatives dogs overnight. One of the dogs is diabetic and requires injections, so I am familiar with giving dogs insulin shots.

Joining biscuit time seem to be the perfect second career for me because I can be outdoors, active and interact with special animals. I will enjoy loving and caring for your pets as if they were my own.

From the moment I can remember I have always loved animals. I grew up in Sarasota, FL and had a variety of different pets including a dog, cats, birds, hamsters, hermit crabs, gerbils, a horse and even an iguana. My love of animals developed into a passion for riding horses. I began riding at the age of 9 and still ride to this day.

I moved to Orlando after high school and attended the University of Central Florida. After graduating from UCF, I worked in the marketing department of SeaWorld then moved on to Human Resources and benefits administration for a Fortune 500 company. After giving birth to our amazing son I decided to stay home and be a full time mommy.

In 2015 my husband, son and I moved from Lake Mary to Sorrento. Our son is now 6, which allows me the freedom to work and volunteer. I currently volunteer at my son’s school as a room mom and have been co-chair of the annual fundraiser for the last 3 years. I also volunteer at a local cat rescue running the Instagram page and fostering when I am able to. In addition to my work at the cat rescue I also have a make shift rescue of my own. Since moving to Sorrento I have somehow developed the ability to attract cats! I frequently come across cats and kittens that have been dumped, are stray and even a few feral cats and kittens. With my husband’s support I work with these cats, rehab them, and then find them their forever homes. To date I have found homes for 16 cats, trapped and released 2 that were unable to be rehabbed and kept 5.
We currently have 7 cats, 1 dog, and a few tropical fish. I love the company and companionship of animals and can’t imagine not having a house full of them!

After being a Biscuit Time client for the past 3 years I am very excited to be on the other side caring for your pets! I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies and I promise to care for them as if they were my own.

I didn’t have my first pet, a cat my landlord found living in a stone wall, until I was 32. My mother wanted to save me the hurt from when their time was over. So as an adult, I made up for it. Over the years owning 5 dogs, 5 cats, as many as 22 goats, pigs, rabbit, ducks and of course lots of chickens. I had property in the desert of Nevada so it was easy. After moving to Florida in 2001, things changed. My husband and I now just have one cat who makes it clear she rules the house.

After many years of working in several grocery stores in many states, it was time to slow down. Everyone says do what you love. So that was easy, I missed the animals. Now I get to share the happiness that many animals bring, and constantly meet new ones.
